Richard Pryor

Most of my childhood I watched Richard Pryor on cable tv, I used to laugh at his raunchiness. I remember him doing a great junkie impression in one of his standups, ever since then I became captivated by his dark sense of humor.

What I liked most about him his natural ability to bring out social issues while still being funny. Unlike Lenny Bruce he wasn't persecuted for being outspoken, he was celebrated, imitated by many comedians and made it cool to be black in the 70's and 1980's. You can see his boisterous Sagittarius personality in most of his material, he was rebellious and very philosophical in his outlook on life.
